We are a Discord RP group based on Ragnarok Online. You do not need background knowledge to join the group - everyone is welcome! We highly encourage participation, however events are not mandatory.

    Setting

    An open world high fantasy setting. After 1,000 years of peace and prosperity, monsters and gods have begun to unleash their wrath upon the land. Political turmoil is rife. Despite all this, bands of brave adventurers have taken up swords and spells to restore order amidst the spreading chaos.This is the world of Midgard. It consists of three main countries: Rune-Midgard, Schwarzwald, and Arunafeltz.
    The realms of Asgard, Yggdrasil, and Niflheim also exist, but are generally only available in special cases.    We have a Discord forum post that has a quick overview of each city as well as extra locations not included here.
    We also have a WORLD GUIDE that is specific to the group which includes a timeline, factions, notable people and more!    Your OC can come from any of these towns listed here. For more information click on the name of the cities.

    Character Creation

    Guidelines:
    ● Every member starts out with two PC slots. More can be unlocked through levelling in the group.    ● 3rd & 4th Classes are locked behind Level Rewards.● The minimum requirements for the visual application is a clean sketch of a full body with flat colours● Hair and eyes can be any colour● Class outfits can be modified, but keep it recognisable. The mods will give you feedback to let you know if the modifications are allowed or not. If you are unsure about modifying the outfit, it's recommended not to modify it at all. A folder with all the Class art can be found here.● Try to use existing headgears and weapons! You can find headgears and weapons at Divine Pride and RateMyServer. Headgear/weapon designs can also be modified and stylised.● Weapons and halter lead mounts do not have class restrictions within reason. The only mount restrictions we have are class-specific mounts (Crusaders and Grand Pecos, Rune Knights and Ferus, Royal Guards and Gryphons etc.)● Pets are allowed but please no MVP pets.● You do not have to draw your own app, but make sure you credit whoever draws it for you. Absolutely no tracing, stolen art and AI-generated images!● After your app is accepted, if you have any new significant information/lore to add, please check with the mod team first. We'd like to make sure big changes don't impact the world's setting or conflict with existing lore.If you are unsure about anything, check in with the mods.

    NPC System

    NPCs, or Non-Playable Characters, are side characters used to facilitate roleplays as well as to support your character's story. Some examples are family and friends of Player Characters, characters that work as guards and more! Overall they should exist to support PCs and factions.NPCs mostly follow the same rules as Main Character creation rules, HOWEVER they do not necessarily need to have a RO class. If their main profession is an RO class, they must wear the official RO uniform. If they do not have a RO class, keep their clothes to the theme of the world setting.NPC Guidelines & Restrictions:
    ● You must be Level 10 and have completed the DREAM TUTORIAL EVENT to create an NPC. Please send in an App Submission ticket before submitting your NPC to the group.
    ● They do not count towards the Level Tracker (e.g. RPing/drawing/writing the NPC ONLY will not be counted).
    ● Cannot participate in EVENTS and QUESTS unless stated otherwise.
    ● Can create quests, but this will not count towards the Level Tracker
    ● NPC slots are capped at 10.

    GROUP FEATURES

    Level System | Events | Player-created Lore | Player-run Events | Quests

    ● Level System: Instead of having a group currency, we use a 'stamp card' system, known as levels. You can earn levels by doing various activities to unlock cool stuff!● Events: Run by mods that run for approximately two months, while mini events run for one month.
    The very first event is permanent and is mandatory if you would like to use the Level System.    ● Player-created Lore & Events: Character updates that affect the world's setting, such as events that happened in headcanons or roleplays. Create lore that helps build the group's setting for everyone! After reaching a certain level, you can create a server event of your own! Send in a ticket to get your lore/event idea approved by the mods.● Quests: Permanent prompts are created by the mods. Members can also submit quests with their OCs. Does your character need help looking for the world's best noodle dish? Trying to find a lost pet? Get creative!

    Q. I've never played this game. Can I still join?
    A: Yes! You do not need background knowledge as we have resources that can help familiarise you with the world. Staff and veterans are RO nerds more than happy to help you out so don't be afraid to ask!    Q. Is this group's setting a MMORPG style?
    A: Although our group is based on Ragnarok Online, the world itself is not an MMORPG. Think of it as a medieval fantasy setting.    Q. How technologically advanced is the world?
    A: It varies on the country. Check out our lore docs for more info!    Q. Does my character have to start off as a Novice?
    A: You can start off as any class, excluding 3rd & 4th classes (unlocked through levels). OCs can also advance classes throughout their journey. You can also change class branches in the group (e.g. Knight -> Acolyte) however they won't retain their old skills if they switch branches.    Q. Can my character be any race?
    A. Your character can be a human or elf/half-elf. Check with the mod team if you have something else in mind.    Q. Can my character be from any background?
    We are not too strict with backgrounds as long as they fit with the world's setting and aren't overpowered, but please refrain from having a royalty background as it can clash with the existing lore. However they can be nobility. If you are unsure, don't be shy to ask the mods!    Q. How many characters can I have?
    A. You can start off with two characters at the start and unlock up to your 5th main character slot and 10th NPC slot through leveling.    Q. I don't have time to grind art/literature to farm RP currency.
    A: Good news! We want to promote group activity, so instead of an economy system we have a stamp system. You can earn stamps by doing various activities, not limited to submissions, to unlock cool stuff!    Q. Do I have to be super active? Are there activity checks?
    A: No, you do not have to be super active. However, we would like to see our members chat once in a while! There will be activity checks every now and then, but they are easy to pass as long as you do the bare minimum.    Q. Why are some of the towns/places are spelt differently?
    Some official servers couldn't settle on one localisation, so there ended up being several ways to spell the same thing. Mods will try to use the same spelling, but don't be confused if someone spells something differently (e.g. Yuno instead of Juno).    Q. Do horses exist in this world?
    A: They used to exist centuries ago, but not anymore.    Q. Is Ragnarok the Animatio-
    A: We do not talk about that anime.    Q. My question isn't here!

    Rules

    ● This is an 18+ group. You must be age 18 or older to join the group. Mature themes are allowed, but no nudity and NSFW discussions or content in the server. Sensitive/triggering content and suggestive themes must be spoiler tagged and kept to a minimum.● This group runs by a 3-strike system. Breaking the rules 3 times will result in a ban.● No inappropriate language. Keep use of profanity to a reasonable minimum. Any derogatory language towards any user is prohibited.● Respect each other. Harassment, hate speech and hateful conduct will not be tolerated. Keep personal drama out of the server. Avoid discussing political and religious topics in the server.● Art theft, tracing, and AI generated images are not allowed. Give credit where it's due.● Follow the channel-specific guidelines. Each channel has a description or pinned message on how to use them.● You must follow Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.● Follow general roleplay etiquette. No god-modding, metagaming, ship-chasing. Respect each other as everyone has different levels of experience with roleplaying. Always ask for consent!● Do not exclude people from conversations. This also applies to roleplays. Be considerate and give others the chance to jump in, and talk about turn orders if desired.● If you see something against the rules or something that makes you feel unsafe, let staff know.
